Jonas
Jonas is a twelve-year-old boy who has just gone through the Ceremony of the Twelve. Lately he has been noticing that when he looks at certain objects they seem to change. He first sees this change in an apple, and later in his friend's red hair. He later learns that he started to see the color red. Because of this special gift he has already started to develop, he is chosen to become the receiver. When he gains all the knowledge the Giver has, he will be able to see all the colors and use his other senses.
